It has been brought to my attention that within the last 24 hours, one of my images – we’ll call it Batman vs. Shark with Lightsaber, has achieved something few ever do – internet fame! In that short period of time, Batman vs. Shark with Lightsaber has been posted on such high profile blogs as slashfilm.com, maddowblog.msnbc.com (official blog of Rachel Maddow), digg.com, ign.com, gizmodo.com (at least in australia!), etc. How this happened, I do not know. I DO know, however, that NO ONE realizes I am the artist of this piece. So I am on a mission to contact the posters of my work to let them know that I deserve at least a credit line in the postings. This is what happens when you post artwork on public sites without watermarks, kids. You’d think I would have learned from the teachings of Liz Lomax.

If you happen to come across my image of Batman vs. Shark with Lightsaber on any of the aforementioned sites or others, please leave a comment telling the poster where they can see the original, unadulterated, un-cropped, un-unawesomefied artwork!

I do not blame the people posting the work, as there is no evidence of anyone taking credit for my work. They simply do not know where it came from. So if we tell them, maybe I can get for-real famous and take you all out for lunch! Or dinner. Your choice.

Thank you!

LOVE the illustration Andrew. How can I buy a print! :-)

  3. Andrew says:

Thank you so much, Eric. I have received a huge demand for prints of this piece, however, since these are trademarked properties, there may be some legal issues that need to be worked out before that can happen. I will definitely post an update if and when prints of this piece is available.

    Thanks again!

the only way that this picture could be more badass is if it was pirate batman and he was fighting a shark and a grizzly bear at the same time

I saw the post on Buzzfeed, and tracked you down through at least 5 different blog sites. Excellent work. Very badass. Wanted to find the author himself. Good luck with your quest to spread your name! You deserve credit for this, for sure.

  6. BKG says:

Now that you’ve identified yourself as the author of this piece I and a few of my friends would like to ask you a very important question. Why?

  7. Chris says:

Oughtn’t it be “Batman with Lightsaber vs Shark?” Your title implies the shark has the lightsaber, which would be horrifying.

I’m just messing with you, that’s one of the coolest illustrations I’ve ever seen and I hope you can make some money / recognition from it.

  8. This piece rocks! Thank you for creating it!

Thanks again for the classic Batman/Shark painting, Andrew! Our blog fans were nuts about it. I saw this headline and I could imagine your amazing illustration for it. Just a thought. (or is it a…..challenge?????) Keep up the awesome!!

    Your fan, Kent

Thank YOU for the compliment, Third Eric!

  15. Andrew says:

Actually Chris, Batman grabbed the lightsaber from the shark before the moment this painting captures. That’s why the shark is so mad in the first place. He’s usually a pretty cool guy… uh, I mean, shark.

    Thanks for the comment!
